‏With emerging technologies, new platforms, and evolving business models, local news is in a state of transformation.

‏Responsible and vibrant journalism is a critical component of our democratic society…a healthy democracy relies on informed communities. How can we provide information and serve as a platform for engagement to address some of our state’s major challenges like income inequality and housing insecurity? What are innovative business models emerging in the local news ecosystem? What are the new technologies available to journalists and media producers?

Are news collaborations the way of the future and how do they work? How do we build a pipeline of young diverse journalists trained in public policy coverage?

Join news publishers, journalists, media producers, technologists, policymakers, newsmakers and philanthropy at CNPA’s Capital Conference 2020 where we will explore the “Future of Local News – Solutions, Trends, and Emerging Technologies.” CapCon 2020 is co-produced by the California Press Foundation.
